The ‘Driesmolen’ watermill

It was near the ‘Driesmolen’ watermill that Jan de Lichte (historical 18th-century character made famous in a book by Flemish writer Louis-Paul Boon) was born in 1723. After an eventful life he was executed on the main square of Aalst in 1748. A much more peaceful footpath leads you along the valley of the Molenbeek.
