Amid the greenery of Egmont’s park you will find Egmont’s castle, on a site where a fortress was built in the eleventh century. The castle has a long history and in the sixteenth century was transformed into a luxurious mansion, that became property of Egmont’s family.

Follow in the footsteps of Lamoral. Admire the sumptuous Knight’s Hall (Ridderzaal) and its Renaissance-style bay window. Marvel at the rococo-style staircase and the Renaissance revival style facade dating from 1867. Take a seat on the library’s terrace or delve into the past using the multimedia screen about the castle’s history. In Egmont’s park you will see the moat, the drawbridge and the remains of the chapel.
